Memorial

After coming here to Oklahoma every summer for the last four years we finally went to the Memorial for the Oklahoma Bombing. It was a beautiful memorial and humbling. It is amazing how just one person can do so much damage!!!
They had a spot for kids to draw with chalk, in memory of the kids that died there. Jed seemed to learn a lot from it but Evan just wanted to draw. After 14 year and all the rain we got this summer we still had a hard time finding a place for the kids to draw. You can tell the people here still hold it close to there hearts.
They also had a field of empty chairs. One for every person killed and a name carved on each chair. It was so humbling to see it all set up that way. I think they did a wonderful job with the memorial, it seem to be a perfect way to honor and remember the victims of this tragedy.

Summer Swim Lessons

So summer time means hanging out at the pool for my kids and me. We have been taking swim lessons to give me some peace of mind with all the water we are around. It has been really fun. Jed loves it and has become a really good swimmer. He can swim across our apartment pool all by himself. Evan is still working on just putting her face in the water but she seem to be having tons of fun too!! The swim lesson run for two weeks, then you can do it again if you want the next two week session. Today was the last day for this session and they turned on the slide and let all the kids go down it. I tried but didn't get a very good pic of Jed coming down the slide, I was either to late or to early with the camera. Sorry!!!! I hope you enjoy the pictures I did get though.Evan with her teacher Miss LucyJed with his teacher Mr. Gilbert

Playing in the Rain

The weather here in Oklahoma is a little crazy. The day before these pictures were taken was a sunny hot day and so was the day after. But this day wasn't one of the rainiest days we have seen here either, it was still fun though. The kids are really loving having Cortney here to play with them and I think she enjoys playing with them too. Fortunately, I am the one behind the camera so I didn't get very wet.

It is so fun to be these kids mom. I love the way that just a little thing like rain can get them so excited and having fun for the whole day. Jed is the best at it, he has such an imagination!!! While we were out playing he "turned into" rain boy who has the power to control the weather but can only breath if he is being rained on. And Evan was right behind him, I don't think she knew exactly what they were playing but she chased him around the complex, until she found a puddle that is, then she splashed with Cortney until almost all the water was gone.

Happy Birthday !!!

  1. Today my little girl turned two!!!Those couple years went by too fast. She as change so much in the last few months, for those who know her she has always been one who does thing in her own time and her own way. Learning to crawl three weeks before her first birthday, not walking until she was almost 18 months old, and until recently most of her word were just baby gibberish(I still have a hard time making out some words, but she know what she saying.) But now she has grown up so much she isn't my little baby anymore, she is a toddler. Learning and trying new things. It is a bitter sweet thing, I love to cuddle, hold and care for my baby girl, but it is also so much fun to see her express herself, getting to know her personality and getting a glimpse into the woman she will become. I love my little toddler!!!Numbered List

Now to get away from the serious stuff. Evan had a wonderful birthday, (I hope.) We hung out and cleaned up a little bit, I ran some errands while Cortney stayed and played with the kids (thanks Cort). Then the kids and I tried our best to make a puppy cake. As you can see Evan was more of a taste tester then an actual helper. Jed did really well he pretty much made one of the dogs, coping everything I did. I did put the spots on it and "helped" with the nose and mouth. But he did the white frosting and the eyes himself!!! After everything was pretty much set up we went to CiCi's for dinner(pizza is her favorite food). Then it was party time!!! We had a few friend come over and we hung out, Evan received a ton of gifts, and she loved each one of them. She took her time and wanted to play with each new thing. Her brother on the other hand was not so patient , he keep thing going for all of us. Then we ate cake and played with friends. It was good night.

I am sorry this post is so long and has so many pics. With so many friend and family so far way I just wanted everyone to feel like they were here, and it helps me feel like all of you are little closer. We miss all of you!! Happy Birthday Evan!!!

Fun pics!!

I am behind on my blogging and so I though I would just down load a few pics so I can get caught up on things. Jed saved his money and bought the batman costume with his own money. The storm trooper and ballerina outfit were Easter presents. Sheldon seemed to enjoy everything as much as the kids :)

Oh my goodness, it has been along time since I updated!!! I am soooo sorry. It has been a very busy month or so. But if Monika can do it then I can too :) I first got distracted by face book!! I found it and then became addicted, finding old friends keeping up with family, I went a little crazy!! Then we moved to OKC (again) and I have taken my time getting into things. But now I am back to myself and I will hopefully keep up with my updating, and lest until we move back again!!! :)
So I am going to have to go back a little so I can show all of the pics of my cute kids. We usually go on vacation as a family right before we head for OKC. This year we headed up to McCall. It was a little cold and snowy but very fun. McCall is beuitful place, full of stream, lake, trees and wildlife. So of corse we did tons of fishing, or should I say Sheldon did tons of fishing. As most of you moms know it wasn't much of a vacation for me, but the kids seem to really have fun ( all 3 of them). Jedikiah caught his first fish, although it was too small to keep, he was really excited about it. While the boys fished I followed Evan as she played in the sand and fire pits.
We also did a little swimming, the place we stayed at had a pool and we went to some hot tubs that were out in the middle of nowhere but were way nice. I think that was my favorite part!! The hot water was very relaxing!!! And I got to just sit and enjoy the evening while Sheldon played with the kids. All in all it was a great vacation, and very appreciated. Now we have something fun to look back on while we live our busy lives in OKC.
